Hungry for Bluhd
Although Halloween has passed here, Vampires are still everywhere you look. Please tell me you've been watching True Blood on HBO. I'm completely obsessed! The premise is basically the Japanese (b/c they smart n shit) invented a synthetic blood which enables Vampires to leave among humans as a race. It's all about Vampire-Human relations and Vampire stereotypes and "Fang-Bangers". So good. And then last night I went to see a movie called "Let The Right One In", a Swedish indie film about a shy little boy who is bullied at school but befriends a young vampire girl. It's a beautiful film and only feeds my current Vamp obsession. Don't even get me started on Twilight...
Hungry for Velvet
It's taken me a long time to like velvet (fabric, not the brand). It always felt kind of Ren Fair or goth (bad goth i mean, there is a good goth) or "craft-lady" or just not not special enough. Today I am a new woman, a woman who likes VELVET! I even have a secret crush on blue crushed velvet. Mostly I'm just into these velvet leggings or velvet used in silhouettes besides an obvious blazer or pant from The Gap. see? velvet feels fresh all of a sudden, doesnt it?

Hungry For Sparkle
What do you think of when you think "Holiday"? Snow maybe? Or perhaps you have visions of eggnog and sugarplum fairies? It's sure not the same as when I was a wee nipper. I used to get butterflies in my tummy when I thought about the holiday season. Now, you know what gets me all giddy and excited? SEQUINS! If there was a way I could eat sequins and not get sick I think I might do it. I'm not thinking of sequins in an M.I.A. way but more of a dark disco way. Just ask Karl, he'll tell you all about it.

The Duke Spirit
My new favorite obsession, The Duke Spirit. Front woman Leila Moss is my ideal woman, blond and agro with a raspy voice and English accent. She sounds like a mix of Kim Gordon + Karen O and looks like a mix between Debbie Harry + Swedish Wolf Girrrl.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

This is one colab I migth actually wait in line for overnight. I've always wanted to do that, be one of those mega-fans who dont mind sleeping in a chair just to be the first one to own the Polka-Dot Weekender Bag from the Comme x H&M collection. I imagine other fanatics sharing their Cliff Bars and bottled water with me and eyeing me to get a good look at who they'll be fighting over what with.
Comme des Garçons’ founder and head designer Rei Kawakubo will create this autumn’s guest designer collection at H&M. Rei Kawakubo, famous and admired for her creativity and artistry, will design a women’s and a men’s collection, with some pieces for children too. Michael Ian Black is Funny, I can prove it!
I just picked up a copy of his new book called My Custom Van, a collection of short stories that will make you laugh so hard your face will explode all over your face! if you have a really short attention span and like funny stories then I recommend this book to you! I checked out his website and was overjoyed to discover that he's a regular blogger. Now I can obsessively track of his whereabouts and his goings ons. Here's a sample from his blog:
My Daughter’s First Day of School
The school year started in my little town today, and we sent our daughter off to her first day of kindergarten. She did not want to go. When I asked her why she told me that she was scared.
“You should be scared,” said. “Did you know that one out of three children reports being bullied in school?”
She wasn’t sure what “bullying” meant, so I called her a faggot and pushed her down the stairs. “That’s bullying,” I said.
(For the record, I didn’t push her down all the stairs. Just the top stairs that lead to a landing. She probably fell down, at most, five stairs.)
I also tried to explain to her the pressure her mother and I are going to start applying so that she can get into a good college on academic scholarship. Although she doesn’t have a firm grasp of money yet, she definitely understands that Daddy’s career is in the shitter because that’s what we talk about every night at bedtime. “Daddy’s career is in the shitter,” I say, as I plant a kiss on her forehead. “Good night.”
Hilarious, am I right? Read the book, you can probably finish it at the bookstore standing up which is great because then you don't have to pay for it.

I Scream Ice Cream- Trust Tissue
For some reason all the songs I'm into today have repetitive lyrics! I guess it makes them easy to sing along to.
Hungry Eyes Hearts Carly Simon
A little bit of Monday inspiration.
Ive listened to this song a hundred times this weekend alone and today for the first time I experienced the magic of the video which has the production value of a homemade kareoke film.
why..does your love...hurt so much... dont know why... singalong!

Get Back in that Fighter Jet, Kitty!
I know I haven't blogged in a while so I'm trying to ease back into it. I'm going to start fresh with this mention of Suck UK's Cat Play House. My own cats love nothing More than being in boxes but I don't really like keeping a bunch of old cardboard boxes round the house. The solution: Cat Play House. They come flat packed and you just put it together and voila! A cat toy that looks like war toys, much better.

Spotlight On: Confettisystem
Pals Julie Ho, Nick Andersen and Karlo Bello enjoyed decorating their friends' parties so much, they decided to create party goods of their own. Their line Confettisystem takes classic celebration staples and putting a stylish spin on them, the completely handmade line is a mix of jewelry pieces and party supplies inspired by, among other things, "plastic bags, hippies in Kauai, wish trees, and lei-making."
Along with their pretty pastel knotted necklaces and glittery party banners, the design team offers up colorful confetti, as well as metallic silk and leather blindfolds for piñata bashing. Their custom diamond-shaped piñatas, fringed with delicate colored paper and filled with brilliant confetti, candy, and curly ribbons, are the most eye-catching pieces in this collection of grown-up party goods.
Necklaces are available at NYC's Opening Ceremony, contact Confettisystem to inquire about piñatas.

Hungry for Flight of the Conchords
I can't help but be addicted to Flight of the Conchords. Their accents, their New Zealand brand of naiveté, their music and rhymes. Most of all, I'm addicted to their dance moves! Take note people and get with the Conchords! It's no wonder they received 4 Emmy nominations.

Spotlight on: Brooke Stone Animal Jewelry
Brooke Stone is the "Goro" of Eugene, Oregon. She creates jewelry inspired by animals and nature, taking care to observe the animals in their natural habitat first in order to capture their essence in her handmade jewelry. It all has a very multi/culti Native American feel. The pendants themselves are pretty large and lifelike in their detail. Buy One. Hungry Eyes says so.

Spotlight on: Pamela Love Talon Cuffs
After months of feeling uninspired there are suddenly gobs of things I'm coveting. It's probably because my birthday's right around the corner and I'm shopping with a new eye. Check out Pamela Love's bird claw cuffs at www.CabinetsofCuriosities.com. Good in both gold or silver, how's a girl to choose? There are also some cute rompers on the site by Samantha Pleet. Check it.

Leslie in the Flesh
Friday night we caught the Leslie show at this heavy metal/butt rock bar called the Satyricon. I brought my friend KT with me, she's from the midwest so she "gets it". Before the show we were waiting in line for the bathrooms and it was just KT and I hanging out waiting for the show to start when one of the bathroom doors popped open a crack and Leslie (in the flesh) stuck her gold-lame covered head out. She ushered KT in and I remained in the hallway alone and utterly jealous that Leslie invited KT to pee with her! When KT came out she said she asked Leslie (while on the pot) what she was going to bring to the show to make it better, what would she do that hasn't been done before. Apparently Leslie placed her index finger across KT's lips to shush her and said her performance would speak for itself. Thats how cool Leslie is, she lets people pee in her bathroom and she gives good show. I have the pictures to prove it!
Alexandre Herchcovitch Designer Scab Covers
In the past I used to use my Hermes scarves to stop the bleeding when I was injured. Now when i have a laceration there's no need to ruin any more designer accessories thanks to Alexandre Herchovitch for Johnson & Johnson Band-aids. An unusual combination but in this day and age who hasnt collaborated?! Next thing you know it will be Chanel x Home Depot or Victor & Rolf x jelly-beans or Hungry Eyes x Tampax.
Designer Band-aids available at Opening Ceremony someday soon.

Lanvin + Acne.....
Equals... really fucking expensive denim.
Says Lanvin head designer, Alber Elbaz, "I've started conceptualizing all of this not so long ago," said the designer "I was very pleased when I started working with Acne. They're just young, energetic sexy Swedes and our partnership really wasn't about signing hardcore contracts, it was really just about creating something that was mutually fun and creative."
The collection will be available at Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman at the end of November and looks to offer something for every age. Dresses, tuxedo jacket, belted trench, blouson and, naturally, jeans are among the collection.
Prices starting at a whopping $1,000. Whats with everything being so extremely priced these days? I can buy a wardrobe from Forever 21 for under $200 or I could buy the button off a sleeve of a Lanvin+Acne jacket. Whats left in the middle? Tell me, I want it.

Whatchoo Know About Leslie and the Ly's?
It's one part spandex, one part perfomrance art, one part fringe, one part gem sweater, one part mid-west, one part hilarious, one part annoying, and all parts RING-A-DING-DING! (It's a Leslie thing) Leslie and the Ly's is kind a guilty pleasure for me. I've seen her perform and I know it's so novelty and Vice mag but whatever, I still enjoy watching her wiggle in that gold spandex fringed body suit. Dont be too cool to go see her. The Queen of Gem is coming to a town near you.
She has the best e-cards, check out her website.

PS- the video is Leslie with some LA kids (friends of the Leons)and it ahs something to do with Willow.
